Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)
Oakstone Dental provides services to eligible families under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule.
The CDBS commenced on January 1st 2014. You can enquire if your children are eligible by calling Medicare on 132011.
A child’s eligibility is assessed at the beginning of each year and lasts the whole calendar year. A child is eligible if if they are aged 2-17 and they are part of Medicare and are either part of a family receiving Family Tax Benefit Part A or one of some other Australian Government payments.
The total benefit entitlement is $1,000 per child over a two year calendar period.
Most often the family receives a letter from Medicare confirming eligibility.
Medicare Australia has guidelines that state that these benefits do not include orthodontics,mouth guards or cosmetic dental procedures.
